With the exception of the post from mnjeff this forum has sucked for a while. Other than pussy all I care about are some good fishing spots in the twincities metro area. I do have a small boat but will take any good shore fishing secrets any one is willing to share. My usual spots have sucked this summer, I think it's been too hot and the fish don't want to bite. Thanks in advance
I dont know where you live...but on lake minnetonka there is a private boat landing on harrison bay you might want to look into....We have always gotten decent large mouth bass, and walleye....another good place is howard lake...in ummm..howard lake...big northerns in the mud flats, and decent bass.
Thanks Darth I may have to check them out. Since I live in St. Paul I usually fish lakes in Ramsey county or the St. Croix or the St. Louis river at the Fondulac campground up in Duluth. I fish Lakes Owasso, Johanna, and Gervais most often but the last couple months have sucked. They all have some pretty deep holes. Ice fishing on Owasso & Johanna are usually pretty good for walleye in the 16-20 inch range if you know where the holes are.
For a nice shore fishing spot I like Lake Bennett in Roseville, but avoid the dock during the day, fish the north west corner just off the walking path, it's only about 4-5 feet deep over there but largemouths northerns and walleyes hang out there in the shade, plus during the summer the amount of great looking women that run walk and blade around the lake is usually pretty good so if the fish aren't biting you at least have some pretty scenery to look at.

I've always found the best fishing to be in the frozen foods aisle at Krogers.

It's probably cheaper too after you add up the cost of a boat, tackle, poles, bait, liscense.....
Just like the "hobby" we all participate in - with fishing it's not about the costs - it's all about the experience...
you might want to try Square Lake near Stillwater for trout, the non trouser variety.
I love "blow fish"!
