with CL and BP shutdown, anybody know where to look next?

I plan to stop into my very first venue of this sort and I'm super excited (I don't think we have them in Florida). Can anyone provide me with any tips or rules of the road. I think I'd like to just watch as a fly on the wall. That said do I go into a booth or into the larger area? How do I say "I'm here to watch", etc. Any help is appreciated. I'll post something similar on the Red Barn space too.
